NFL Wages War on Fans

To the Editor:

Although I was obviously relieved that the Dec. 29 Patriots-Giants game was on national broadcast networks, the relief was only temporary. Come next fall, the NFL will go back to its strategy of blacking out games and squeezing a few more dollars out of fans.

The NFL is waging war on its fans, blacking out local broadcasters so it can force its new NFL Network onto basic cable. I guess the $20 billion the league gets from the major networks for TV rights isn't enough.

The NFL should come to its senses and give the games back to their rightful owners - the fans.
